OK- now that we are all up and running, we can begin blogging about creative writing and art! You should write (at least!) two posts a week, as well as make two comments on posts on your classmates' blogs. This is your opportunity to share ideas, writing, whatever-- about the things we talk about in class, things you read, whatever. YES!- you can post your creative writing.
Don't forget to use ALL the tools at your disposal in the blog/internet world. For example, you can link to leaves and fountains. Not to mention YouTube pieces that critique our assumptions about beauty.
So, taking all three of these pieces of "art" together, the question is this: what value does beauty add to a work of art?

The value beauty leaves to a piece of art is like your signature. There is only one of you and there is only one of that art piece. Or it could also be like your trade mark.Every person or artist is known for something. It could be the artists use of colors in their painting/picture. Or the makeup and hair that was created by the cosmetologist. An even a urnal could be considered a piece of beauty and/or art. I Definitly didn't find beauty there. But maybe there is a "strange ranger" out there who likes to look at urnals.
I think beauty in art enhances the likelihood that people will appreciate it. It will attract more of an audience and people will buy reproductions of it to hang in their living rooms. But it doesn't make it better, really. Just prettier. People don't often like to look at ugly or offensive images. But I think we all remember and ponder over disturbing or hideous sights. It seems they are less easily forgotten than aesthetically pleasing image.
